We built Awe.ra because we wanted a nutrition app we could actually trust. That meant treating your data the way we'd want ours treated. Here's the whole story — no legalese, no hidden clauses.

The short version

  • We collect only what we need to make the app useful.
  • We don't sell your data, and we don't run ads.
  • We send your food entries, exercise, and chat messages to AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google — your pick) so the coach can think, and — if you use Future Me — a selfie to Fal.ai to generate your image. We ask your permission in the app first.
  • You can export your memory and delete your account at any time from inside the app.

Who we are

Awe.ra is operated by the team at ZeroCrew. When this policy refers to "we," "us," or "Awe.ra," that's us. You can reach us anytime at our contact page.

What we collect

When you sign in with Apple, we receive a stable identifier and the name and email you choose to share. We use this to create your account and nothing else.

While you use Awe.ra we store:

  • Body metrics & goals — height, weight, age, gender, activity level, and the nutrition targets you set.
  • Meals & food logs — including any photos you take of meals. Photos are uploaded so the AI can analyze them; they stay associated with your account.
  • Weight, water, exercise, and fasting logs — only what you (or the coach) record.
  • Coach chat history— the conversations you have with the coach and the personalized facts it builds about you (e.g. "hates oatmeal").
  • Device & push tokens — so we can send the notifications you opted into.
  • Preferences — language, timezone, units, preferred AI provider.
  • Future Me photo — if you set it up, we store the original selfie and the generated version.

If you connect Apple Health, the data you authorize stays on your device and is read by the app locally. We do not upload your HealthKit data to our servers unless a specific feature (e.g. active energy in daily summaries) explicitly says so in the app.

Why we collect it

To make the product work. Your meals power your daily summaries. Your goals drive the coach's advice. Your timezone and language shape when and how you're messaged. Your push token lets us reach you when you asked to be reached.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted services to operate Awe.ra. They only see what they need to do their job:

  • Convex — our database and backend infrastructure host your account data and photos.
  • AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google)— when the coach replies or analyzes a meal photo, exercise, or your food descriptions, the relevant context is sent to whichever provider you've selected. These providers process it under their own terms; they don't train on Awe.ra data.
  • Fal.ai — if you use Future Me, the selfie you choose and a generation prompt are sent to Fal.ai to create your generated image. It is processed under their terms and not used to train their models.
  • Apple — for sign-in, push delivery (APNs), and subscription billing.
  • RevenueCat — manages subscription state so we know when to unlock Awe.ra Pro features.

We do not sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics platforms that build profiles on people.

Your controls

  • Export — from Profile → Memory, you can export a markdown copy of your weekly memory.
  • Delete— request account deletion from the contact page and we'll remove your account, meals, photos, chats, and associated logs.
  • Push notifications — you can disable these in iOS Settings or inside Awe.ra.
  • HealthKit— revoke access anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

How long we keep it

As long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Backups roll off within 90 days. Aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics may be retained longer.

Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. No system is perfect, but we take this seriously and design for the principle of least access internally.

Children

Awe.ra is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with data, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes

When we update this policy meaningfully, we'll change the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, tell you inside the app. Continuing to use Awe.ra after a change means you accept the updated policy.
